Alright, I’ve made it to Indiana safely. No security pat downs, no liquids on the aircraft, and most importantly, no m0$%&#-f@^%#!* snakes on my m0$%&#-f@^%#!* plane. The motel on the other hand, was much worse.
I woke up at 4:30 yesterday, took a shower and then we drove off to Austin Bergstrom Intl Airport. Upon arrival I felt the extreme need to relieve myself. But carrying my backpack, along with somehow pulling along 4 check-ins made it extremely hard to maneuver. But I persevered, and practically threw the bags on the bathroom floor as I rushed into the stall.
After we checked our bags, we made our way through, na-na-na-na (trumpet sound), security. Nothing much happened. But when I sat down at the gate I realized I was just a tid-bit early, seeing that the plane currently at the gate wasn’t ours. 1:45 to be exact.
Somehow I managed to make it through that wait, and we flew to Dallas for about a 1 hour wait. I managed to back-up 10% of my HD, and then we had to leave. We flew into Indy at 2:30 local time. We drove out, and then eventually pulled over for something to eat. I wanted to try Whitecastle, but we missed it and just ended up eating at the Golden Arches.
We checked out a best buy and circuit city for printers. Circuit city had a decent deal on this one open box canon, but apparently they lost the box (with the ink too). No deal.
We finished our drive to Muncie, where we were horrified to see our motel. This was on the “has-been” side of Muncie, with this hotel being the has-been of all the has-beens. The only thing that looked half decent was the sign.
Most of the place was dirty, and approaching the level of filthy. We found our room, which was musty and not too well furnished. The bed’s were okay, but as you can see in my eyes there were still quite dusty.
My dad was going to take a nap, but after 15 minutes he decided he couldn’t take it anymore. We went out printer shopping. We first went to Stapled, then to Best Buy, then to Circuit City, and then back to Staples. But the printer I wanted, was out of stock, I couldn’t buy the display, and Staples.com was also out of stock. Every single store close to us was out of stock, and the closest store was an hour away, east, and wasn’t able to ship it anywhere. Great. Now I’ll just have to hit up my old trusty, eBay.
We went to eat at our usual, Texas Roadhouse. The service was great, and the food was pretty good.
We were back by 10ish, where I watched the dolphins and the panthers go at it. Being that it was the pre-season, it wasn’t too exciting.
At 2 or 3 I was awakened by my dad going to the bathroom. But then I couldn’t fall back asleep b/c the people in the next room were watching TV (?) and the volume was up way too loud. I think I fell asleep about and hour or so later. Not my idea of a good night’s rest.
Woke up this morning at 8:30 ish, found out the that shower nozzle was pretty cool, but the drain was not quite at 100% drainage. Prob filled up half the tub (and yes, the drain was open) and then got out.
So now we are out of that god-forsaken hell-hole (of which the title is a reference too) and on our way to Taylor. We should be stopping for breakfast along the way.
