Pictures from today

As you can probably tell, there weren’t too many people out and about this morning. But hopefully I can go to First Thursday next week. I should be able to get the bats, plus a ton of people. Maybe even venture over to [...]

My trip has come to an end

July 27th, 2006 at 1:10 pm [ # ] · View Comments · life

Right now I’m just trying to kill some time before he bus heads back up North. I’m at the Republic Square Park. It’s kind of small, about the size of a block, and I think I’m the only one here right now. Lunch was pretty good, and the service was alright.
Didn’t get [...]

Daytrip: Half way through

July 27th, 2006 at 12:04 pm [ # ] · View Comments · life

So my first adventure downtown has already been half complete.
Last night my parents all of a sudden got scared, and made two decisions that drastically curtailed my daytrip. Firstly, I was only allowed to go for half the day (dad’s idea). Supposedly I’m a fresh suburban boy unable to cope in the city, [...]

Austin: First Impressions

July 24th, 2006 at 4:30 pm [ # ] · View Comments · life · thoughts

The first thing I noticed is, it is hotter than hell down here. Good thing it’s not humid. But yeah, the highs are in the upper 90’s and low 100’s. Lows, LOWS, are in the mid 70’s.
Secondly, everything is ginormous. They don’t have Targets here. They have SUPER Targets. [...]

Updateless until the 24ish

So today we’re going to be finally moving into our new townhouse. And we won’t have DSL until Monday. So there prob won’t be any updates between now and then. Unless I “stumble” on a connection, or I go to the library or something.
Hopefully I’ll be able to write something about my [...]

Mile 1540

July 12th, 2006 at 9:11 pm [ # ] · View Comments · life

So I just finished driving my last leg. I don’t know exactly how far away we are from Austin, but I know we’re close. And for some reason both my parents were on my back from the beginning. It was horrible. I wasn’t allowed over 70 and my mom kept freaking [...]

Mile 1009.7

July 12th, 2006 at 11:05 am [ # ] · View Comments · life

So we made it to Nashville last night and stayed in a Sleep Inn. This was much better than the quality inn. The Wifi worked and there were no stupid Mexicans knocking on our door at 12:30.
We woke up, only to realize that we were know in CST and had to wait 15 [...]

Trip Update: Mile 540

July 11th, 2006 at 5:01 pm [ # ] · View Comments · life

So far everything has been alright. Nothing bad happening with the car, and no big arguments. We’re about to eat dinner somewhere around Knoxville, TN. We (my dad and I) have been switching on and off, driving about 2 hours each. We could prob drive longer, but 2 hours allows us [...]

Feeling Bad

July 11th, 2006 at 12:35 pm [ # ] · View Comments · thoughts

I would dare to say the worst feeling in the world is when you know you have disappointed someone (especially your friends or parents).
But the second worst feeling, which is pretty close to that, is when you get passed on the highway by an old woman.
(In my defense, she was going like 95 mph, and [...]

Last Days in Lancaster

July 11th, 2006 at 7:08 am [ # ] · View Comments · life

Note: I will be writing most of the following posts on the road and posting them whenever I can find a connection
So my last days in Lancaster weren’t very happy ones. Mostly consisting of cleaning and getting very angry. There were only about two bright spots: watching the world cup final, and going [...]
